Waterwings Press is a publishing project and reading series based in Glasgow.

Not a lot of people know this but the name Waterwings is another and much better word for inflatables. Waterwings are too full, are plastic (the horror!) (plastic is the destroyer of all forms according to Barthes), are dependent on air to exist. The readings are run across the city and include poets, artists, art writers, performance artists, sound artists, academics etc. The aim is to have a wide-range of creatives present their writing. In general, the whole ‘thing’ is like atoms falling into parallel formations and into the void. If one of these atoms swerves off course, it causes an encounter with the next atom and from encounter to encounter a pile-up and then the birth of Waterwings and a Waterwings reading and a Waterwings pamphlet.
